Following controversial comments Wendy Williams made on her show about the NAACP and HBCUs, several producers, including longtime producer Jason Gabel, have been fired, reported Page Six.
After Jesse Williams’ Humanitarian Award acceptance speech at the 2016 BET Awards went viral, Wendy addressed the NAACP and historically Black colleges, stating that she would be offended if white equivalents existed (FYI, they do).

The backlash led Wendy to apologize to Williams, and a source told Page Six that, “the crew had a big party celebrating what they considered a season well done” and the following day, “[some of them] got calls saying they’d been let go.”
Reportedly, executives are seeking to head in a new direction with The Wendy Williams Show.
