There is no denying that the late. great Whitney Houston’s beauty and voice turned heads. The men were smitten with her too, and it looks like one of those men was Alec Badwin.
In his forthcoming memoir, Nevertheless, the eldest of the Baldwin brothers and veteran actor tells the story of the time he once tried to flirt with the Grammy winner and it went nowhere. She shut him down oh-so smoothly, like only Whitney can.
As the story goes, back in 1991, Baldwin was hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live for the second time and the musical guest for the evening was none other than THE Whitney Houston. Baldwin says he was just as happy about sharing the stage with Ms. Houston as he was about hosting.
As they each rehearsed for their respective parts of the show, Baldwin approached the star to understandably fan over her numerous talents and what happened next was just iconic.
“One year I hosted [SNL] when Whitney Houston was the musical talent. After her dress rehearsal, I was introduced to her backstage. ‘You truly are the most talented singer out there today,’ I said, a bit starstruck. She paused and said, ‘I know, baby,’ then walked on.”
We’re glad Whitney let him down.
Plus, this story is honestly, truly amazing!
