Yung Miami, one half of rap duo City Girls, was recently targeted in a drive-by shooting in Miami.
TMZ reports that 25-year-old Miami, born Caresha Brownlee, was in her red Mercedes G-Wagon when a car pulled up behind her and opened fire. A bullet hit the spare tire of her car but the rapper, who is pregnant with her second child, was unharmed.
In a video from the scene, Miami can be heard explaining what happened to police officers at the scene, sharing that the vehicle did not have its lights on when it pulled up.
The shooting took place as she was leaving the studio.
Yung Miami announced that she was pregnant with her second child back in June, sharing a glimpse of her bump along with the news.
“I did everything they said I couldn’t because that’s just the type of woman I am and going to continue to be,” she wrote on Instagram. “Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and life-changing, so I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the City Girls! This is my personal life and it is what it is! PERIOD.”
Miami-Dade police are investigating the shooting and have yet to provide any additional details. There are currently no suspects.
