Tracy Reese founded her eponymous label in 1998 in New York City. Over the years her namesake brand was sold in a myriad of luxury department stores from Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, and Neiman Marcus.
Her fashion shows were always filled to the brim with colorful ensembles, bold prints, and often retro-inspired designs. A distinct femininity was conveyed through Reese’s design codes. In 2006, the designer opened her first New York-based flagship store that brought fans of her pieces to one place to explore. A year later; she was inducted into the CFDA as a board member, steering the industry in the right direction in regard to diversity. Her legacy is respected years later with her still designing coveted pieces.
At the 2018 New York Ballet, she showcased her personal style on the red carpet in a cream-hued gown with a satin bodice and a fringed hemline. This bold dress signified that fashion comes easily to her. Her beaded shoes and gold clutch in hand to accessorize, along with a single pendant necklace was a refreshing, simple take on a red carpet look.
