It’s never too early to start planning for ESSENCE Fest and you’ll definitely want to get a head start as we prepare to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the country’s largest celebration of Black women and Black culture in 2019!
Announced today, the 2019 ESSENCE Festival will take place July 4-July 7 as we return to New Orleans, Louisiana to for 4 days of what’s sure to be our most unforgettable Festival yet. Fresh off of our biggest year to date that saw sold-out crowds for all three nights of our concert series at the Louisiana Superdome for the first time ever, the Essence Fest community is encouraged to register HERE for information and early access to 2019 weekend ticket packages.

The 2018 ESSENCE Festival drew over 510,000 attendees to the city and kicked off with our annual Day of Service community activities and official press conference, followed by a weekend of day-to-night programming across the french quarter.
Our daytime Conference & Expos at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center gave festival-goers all access to the country’s largest Black beauty & fashion experience, enriching conversations on our Empowerment Stage, exclusive film and television screenings in our Entertainment All Access Screening Rooms, celebrity meet and greets in our Fan Zone, interactive panel discussions on our Lifestyle Stage and more. Over 200 of today’s most influential leaders in music, business, film, fashion, beauty, television, politics and community activism were on hand to deliver a culturally uplifting experience like no other.
Offsite events during the day included a surprise ESSENCE Yes, Girl! podcast appearance from Michael B. Jordan at the Ace Hotel and the launch of our new ESSENCE E-Suite, an intimate networking experience for career-women and entrepreneurs at Entrepreneur’s Row in the International House.
Meanwhile, our evening concert series at the Superdome closed out each day with spectacular performances from over 100 of the biggest names in music including Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Missy Elliott, The Roots, Daniel Ceasar, Remy Ma, Teddy Riley, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Ella Mai, Idris Elba, H.E.R., Big Freedia, Xscape, Queen Latifah, Miguel, Brandy and many more.
