The national art and music tour, ‘Jack Honey Art, Beats + Lyrics’ (AB+L) has now taken its iconic roadshow across the country for 20 years. With its initial Atlanta launch back in 2004, the once local art show has become a cultural institution: each show is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that invites art and music enthusiasts to celebrate, recognize, and invest in the culture.
In partnership with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, which has presented the exhibition since the late 2000s, AB+L creates platforms and experiences that elevate local artists to larger audiences, expanding their reach and opportunities while creating networking spaces and iconic concert sets.
To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of AB+L, DRES Tha BEATnik – long-time AB+L Host and cultural ambassador – catches up with Grammy-nominated rapper and previous AB+L performer, Rapsody. Together, they relive some of their favorite AB+L moments throughout the years and reflect on the lessons learned from 20 years of elevating urban art and Black culture.
“The idea of being able to pour into people is one of the things that I cherish more than anything. I feel like everyone needs a space to feel safe and feel heard.” DRES Tha BEATnik shared.
When asked what the brand meant to the culture, the answer was simple.
“The significance of ‘Art, Beats + Lyrics’ to me is, it’s a celebration of creativity,” Rapsody expressed.
