Film and television mastermind Lee Daniels is speaking out about his thoughts on racism in and outside of Hollywood.
The award-winning director and producer visited the ladies of The Real this week while making the rounds to promote his latest TV drama series Star, and when the group began discussing the recent outrage over a Black Santa Claus’ residency at the Mall of America, Daniels chimed in with his interesting approach to dealing with racism.

In short, he says he doesn’t allow racism to play a role in his career.
“I wouldn’t be where I was if I embraced racism,” Daniels told the ladies of The Real. “If I embraced it, then it became real. And if it became real, I would be an angry Black man.”
