EW reports that ABC’s “Scandal” will not air this fall, but rather has been pushed back midseason.
Is this the end to TGIT? Say it ain’t so!
“Grey’s Anatomy” and “How to Get Away with Murder” will remain in their current slots while the new series “Notorious” will take the 9 p.m. vacancy. Joining “Scandal” midseason are “The Catch,” “The Bachelor” and “American Crime.”
Shonda Rhimes Tells Us Why Her Characters Have Relevance
“We did have to make some adjustments to Scandal for a variety of reasons that had to do with the production schedule,” ABC’s new chief, Channing Dungey told reporters, pointing out that Shondaland would have to expand outside of TGIT at some point since Shonda Rhimes is introducing “Still Star-Crossed,” her fifth TV series.
This could be good news for Kerry Washington, who recently announced her second pregnancy. Washington shared on Tuesday that she would be disengaging from social media for a “teeny” bit in a captioned video on Instagram.
“It’s time for me to take a teeny break from social media,” she wrote. “Feeling called to be a bit more quiet and still.”
Not to fret mighty Gladiators, “Scandal” and Washington will “be back soon enough.”
