In the new Netflix original movie Juanita, Alfre Woodard abandons her three irresponsible adult children and thankless job in search of her best life. Convinced that there must something better somewhere else, the grandmother takes a solo road trip that changes her life.
By picking a spot on the map and speaking her mind when she gets there, she finds her way to professional fulfillment and personal satisfaction. Whereas she couldn’t have a proper sex dream at home without someone knocking her door down to ask for something, being on the road allows her total control of her connections and boundaries.
Co-starring Adam Beach, Ashlie Atkinson, and the sexy Blair Underwood, the movie explores what happens when you finally decide to put yourself first.
