The Recording Academy heard our prayers. They’re planning on properly honoring Aretha Franklin with a tribute from Fantasia Barrino-Taylor, Andra Day and Yolanda Adams at this year’s Grammys.
Franklin passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 16, 2018 at 76 years old.
Barrino-Taylor and Adams were also among the many performers at Franklin’s star-studded homegoing services in
Detroit. Reportedly, Franklin pre-approved those she wanted to honor her memory at her funeral before she passed.
The three vocal powerhouses will work together to celebrate Franklin’s life and career onstage. They will join
Chloe X Halle, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Janelle Monae, H.E.R., Young Thug and more as performers at this year’s show.
Watch the Queen of Soul’s legacy get the royal treatment at the 61
st Annual Grammy Awards, which will air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
