Ava DuVernay pulled double-duty by using her #mannequinchallenge entry to reveal the debut date of her latest film, Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time.
The almost three-minute video, long by the meme’s standards, includes the film’s whole cast and crew, with Duvernay appearing at the end to announce the April 6, 2018 release date. According DuVernay’s tweet, it included 102 crew members from 27 departments. Yes to inclusion!

The film is an adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic children’s book. Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will be in the movie.

Not only is this the first time movie that has been promoted with the viral challenge, but DuVernay has also become the first woman of color to direct a live-action film with a production budget over $100 million with A Wrinkle in Time.
