Do you have the range to play Mary J. Blige when she was just starting out in the 90s? Or LL Cool J, Jodeci or the late Heavy D?
BET is looking for entertainers, who can act, sing, and dance for their latest miniseries Uptown, based on the iconic Andre Harrell-ran Uptown Records.
The network shared a casting call Wednesday morning for performers to come out to Newark, New Jersey on Friday and Saturday. People that are auditioning can start lining up at 8 a.m., while doors open at 9 a.m. The actual auditions, however, start at 10 a.m., giving you a full hour to warm up those vocal chords.
Anyone auditioning will need to prepare a song—a cappella only—and be ready to showcase their best moves. Make sure to avoid wearing white or stripes and have a picture and pen handy.
Can’t make it to Newark? Another open casting call is scheduled at the top of the year in Dallas, Texas.
G’luck!
