Beyoncé has released the video for “Spirit,” her new single off The Lion King remake soundtrack —- and it’s just as majestic as you might have imagined.
In the video, clips from the movie are interspersed with gorgeous images of the Grammy Award winning artist and her dancers moving soulfully in nature, from waterfalls and mountain backdrops to day and night settings.
But the biggest star of all was Blue Ivy, Beyoncé’s seven-year-old daughter, who steals multiple scenes when she appears styled as equally beautiful as her mother.
Queen Bey unveiled the new video during an ABC News primetime special on Tuesday called The Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight With Robin Roberts. Parts of the video were captured only last week at the base the Grand Canyon’s hard-to-reach Havasu Falls.
The song and video are one of many musical offerings we can expect from Beyoncé over the next few weeks inspired by her role as Nala in the Disney film, including The Lion King: The Gift, the Afrobeats-influenced album she is releasing to accompany the film.
The project, which drops the same day as the movie on July 19, will be “steeped in the sounds of Africa” and feature a number of global musicians.
“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa,” said Beyoncé in the ABC News interview.
