Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther is set to outsell previous superhero films.
Deadline reports that advanced ticket sales are set to beat Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, becoming Fandango’s top-selling superhero film of all time.
The film doesn’t open until Feb. 16, but it’s already become one of Marvel’s most anticipated films. Fan celebrated the movie’s premiere Monday night with RelishMix seeing a large spike in the hashtag #BlackPanther.
Shortly following the news of Black Panthers rapidly selling tickets, Kendrick Lamar and TDE released the tracklist for the film’s soundtrack. The soundtrack features SZA, Vince Staples, Future, Jorja Smith, and more.
The film has also sparked the #BlackPantherChallenge, launched by Frederick Joseph, which encourages celebrities and communities to raise funds for underprivileged kids to see the movie. Little Miss Flint, Viola Davis, Snoop Dogg, and more have participated in the challenge.
Day of sales will likely be through the roof, but we suggest purchasing a ticket in advance because there’s no guarantee you’ll get a seat.
