The Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira is adding another incredible role to her resumé.
Gurira has snagged a role in The Avengers sequel, Avengers: Infinity War. According to Deadline, the star will likely bring her Black Panther character Okoye to the sequel.
Okoye is one of the amazing female warriors who protects the royal family of Wakanda, ruled by Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa.
Aside from Black Panther and her role as Michonne on The Walking Dead, Gurira will star in All Eyez on Me as Afeni Shakur, which drops June 16.
“I wish there were three of me,” Gurira told ESSENCE about roles reflecting African women.
“I’d lock one of them away just to write because I have so many stories in me that I want to get out there but it requires putting a story out and becoming a worthy vessel of the one who births a narrative. It requires incubation… it’s making sure the African female’s voice is front and center.”
Gurira’s star keeps rising and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store.
