In mid-August, Brandon Dixon will join the cast of the hit Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway production Hamilton.
Announced Wednesday morning, Dixon will replace Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr.
Dixon is no stranger to Broadway’s bright lights–he received a Tony nomnation for his role in Shuffle Along as well as last season’s run of The Color Purple. The stage star previously acted in Motown and the Off Broadway production of The Scottsboro Boys.

Odom announced his departure from the show in June shortly after his Tony Award win for Best Lead Actor in a Musical. He and the show’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will exit the show on July 9.
