Chris Rock and Kevin Hart are teaming up for an upcoming Will Packard-produced comedy — and it’s on a subject the two comedians have experienced.
Rock is currently in negotiations to direct
Co-Parenting, which will star Hart. The film, based on an idea by Rock and Hart, revolves around a stay-at-home dad, who is engaged in a bitter divorce and custody battle with his CEO wife,
Deadline reports.
The two comedians also went through bitter divorces and custody battles with their ex-wives.
Rock first
announced his divorce from wife of 20 years, Malaak Compton-Rock, in 2014. They share two teenage daughters, Lola Simone, and Zahra Savanna, as well as Ntombi, who the couple adopted from South Africa.
Hart has been very vocal about his
2013 divorce from ex-wife Torrei — even using their relationship as material for his standup shows. He has since remarried to his current wife Eniko Hart, but still co-parents his two children, Leigh and Hendrix, with his ex-wife.
Co-Parenting will be written by
Black-ish’s Yamara Taylor. Packer will produce through his Will Packer Productions banner, alongside Hart and his Hartbeat Productions, and Rock for his Chris Rock Enterprises.
