City Girls rapper JT didn’t waste no time. After being released from prison Tuesday, she’s already dropped new music for fans.
JT, born Jatavia Shakara Johnson, received a two-year prison sentence for credit card fraud in 2018, and was initially expected to be released in 2020.
On Tuesday, the rapper was set free after filing a motion in May to be placed in a halfway house.
JT’s City Girls partner Yung Miami shared the good news on social media, writing, “You b—–s in trouble!! My b—h is home!”
JT also shared her first post-release photo, adding that she got out “right on time for the season change.”
The duo continued to celebrate by sharing a new single, “First Day Out,” which sees JT freestyling over a beat produced by Twysted Genius.
Throughout JT’s prison sentence, Yung Miami, born Caresha Brownlee, has held the group down.
She performed solo earlier this year at ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans and continued to promote the duo’s music. Miami announced in June that she’s expecting her second child.
