The director of Dodgeball is making a new action comedy about the CIA, Central Intelligence, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and ESSENCE Fest headliner Kevin Hart. The Rock will play a CIA agent to who comes home for his high school reunion and connects with former “big man on campus” played by Hart. What follows is a hilarious world of shootouts, espionage and crazy double crossing.
A Black Boston University professor has come under fire for tweets that some of the staff consider to be racist. Assistant Professor of Sociology Saida Grundy recently tweeted that “white masculinity is THE problem for America’s colleges,” that white men are a “population problem,” and that she doesn’t shop at white-owned businesses. Alumni threatened to pull their funding but the university stated that while they don’t condone racism, they “recognize [Saida’s] right to have that opinion whether or not we agree.” [Clutch]
The body of Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old boy who was shot and killed by a police officer in Cleveland, Ohio, was finally laid to rest. Rice was cremated 6 months after he was killed. Rice’s family (pictured with Lesley McSpadden and Sabrina Fulton) paid $75 a day to store the body in case it was needed for additional medical examinations for the ongoing criminal investigation into his death.
