You don’t have to get ready when you stay ready.
Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not played professional football in three years since seemingly being denied work after choosing to use his platform to take a stand against injustice in communities of color, but in a new video posted to social media, Kaepernick says he’s “still ready.”
“5 am, 5 days a week for three years. Still ready,” the football player says after a countdown shows that Kaepernick has been denied work for 889 days.
The clip shows the football player in the gym, continuing to train. Despite the 2019-2020 NFL pre-season being already underway, like Kaep himself, many fans are hoping he still has a chance to get back in the game. Some have even have taken to social media this week using the hashtag #BringBackKaep to show their support.
Earlier this year, Kaepernick, along with Eric Reid, reached a financial settlement with the NFL over collusion allegations.
The matter was resolved confidentially, details are unlikely to be released.
