Summer doesn’t officially end until September 22, so it’s technically not too late to finally choose the song of the summer — and Spotify is here to help.
The streaming service has released its top 10 songs of the season, and “One Dance” by Drake featuring Wiz Kid and Kyla is No. 1 on both the U.S. and global lists. Drake also grabbed the No. 2 spot on the U.S. list with “Too Good” featuring Rihanna, while Rihanna herself nabbed the No. 3 spot with “Needed Me.”
The data was calculated by looking at Spotify’s most-streamed tracks between June 1 and Aug. 31.
“Drake’s ‘One Dance’ is impossibly catchy and by late spring had positioned itself as the one to beat,” Shanon Cook, Spotify’s music trends expert, said in a statement. “Other playlist staples like Sia’s feel-good song ‘Cheap Thrills,’ the Chainsmokers’ standout track ‘Don’t Let Me Down,’ and Calvin Harris’ confident club jam ‘This Is What You Came For’ helped shape a summer sound that was upbeat, edgy, and memorable.”
