Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that pal Kevin Hart is doing well following a car crash over the weekend.
On Monday, Johnson appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show where he joked that his “son” was “strapped in nicely to his car seat.”
“Everything is good,” he said. “I spoke with Kevin, I actually refer to him as my son. I connected with him today. And you know what? These things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat. That’s real love.”
Johnson further joked that he’s spoken to Hart’s “pediatrician” for the update.
Hart sustained major back injuries from a car crash Sunday morning in California.
The actor and comedian was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda with two others when the driver lost control of the car before it rolled down an embankment.
Hart was able to leave the scene and make it to his nearby residence, where he received medical attention. Two of the vehicle’s occupants remained trapped inside the car.
Johnson told Clarkson that Hart was “doing very well” and added that the comedian was very lucky to survive the crash.
“I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends and honestly, I mean, thank God, it could’ve been a lot worse. So, he’s a lucky man, and he knows it too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery and I’m gonna see him soon.”
