The concept of “fair share” seems lost on Lucious.
On one hand, he should be commended for deciding to give Cookie the same amount of shares he gave their sons. On the other hand, he should be slapped upside his head for not reading the signs on Wednesday night’s episode of Empire titled “Sins of the Father.”
After all, if Lucious were paying attention and playing fair, he would’ve seen that Cookie had moved on and was no longer holding on to the false hope that they’d be living happily ever after. That’s right. Cookie wants Malcolm and as we found out this time around, Malcolm feels the same way. She kissed him, he kissed her back and we all felt the heat.
That’s right, Cookie! Dip them cookies into that chocolate milk gurl! YAASSS! #Empire #EmpireFOX pic.twitter.com/MsWEofyYx2

Lucious also managed to infuriate his sons. He didn’t visit Andre in the mental hospital, he told Jamal Lola shouldn’t live with him because Jamal is gay and he wrote a check for Hakeem’s girlfriend to make her go away. While we can’t really be that mad about Camilla’s exit, we have to say that Hakeem’s song for her was rather entertaining.
Did you see the look Cookie and Lucious gave each other and Camilla when she said “Yeah, that’s right. Tell them, baby”? Oooh, wee. If looks could kill. No wonder Lucious paid her off. But Cookie’s line about Camilla was the best of all.
“She got her draws wrapped around my baby’s neck. He can’t breathe.” LMAOOOOO!!!!!! #EmpireFOX

As it turned out, that would be the only time Lucious and Cookie were on the same page because when Olivia and Reg (impressive guest star Jerod Haynes) showed up to the Lyons’ den, the truth came out and Lucious was exposed for taking more than his fair share yet again.
Lola isn’t Jamal’s child. She’s Jamal’s half sister because good old Lucious slept with Olivia. Oh, and did we mention Reg had a gun and he put that gun to Cookie’s head after she tried to get the gun from him?
Then there’s the fact that somehow, despite driving Camilla all the way to the airport, Malcolm came back in time to save Cookie’s life and shoot Reg dead. And who could forget the moment when Lucious basically tried to get everyone to overlook his indiscretion by telling them he saved their lives? Wow. This show! Our hearts can’t take it!

Now that Olivia is free from Reg’s tyranny and abuse, she can raise Lola all by herself. But that also means that we won’t get to gaze upon all of the cuteness that is Lola or hear Jamal and Hakeem sing her to sleep. Sigh. So many feels to have.

Those were some of the best moments, of course, but we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the Olivia and Lucious flashback featuring Mary J. Blige. Nice to know Hakeem had a fade even then but we’re not sure what to make of Jamal’s ‘do.

Miss Mary also appeared in the flashback chronicling Andre’s first psychotic break when he was a junior in college – which was all at the same party.
As for Andre, the poor man is going through far too much. He’s not getting the number of Empire shares he deserves, Lucious and Cookie don’t fully understand mental illness – at least Cookie is trying – and he doesn’t want to leave the institution. The only one who seems to understand him is Michelle (Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson) his music therapist. But their relationship is a little too intimate and they pray in inappropriately sexy ways. Dang. Can Andre catch a break?

Which leads us to next week. There are so many loose ends that need to be tied up not the least of which is the love triangle between Lucious, Cookie and Malcolm. Who will she choose? Can our hearts and minds take two hours of Lyons insanity and what about withdrawals once season one ends? Man. This is going to be harder than we thought.
