Entertainment Weekly announced that the Fox series has been renewed for a third season. (Are you really that surprised?)

The news comes following Taraji P. Henson’s Golden Globe win for best lead actress in a TV drama.
Empire premiered as a midseason series last January and it has since took the world by storm.
Creator, writer and director Lee Daniels confirmed the announcement via Instagram and shared his excitement.
