When one doors close, inevitably, another one opens and for Shaun Robinson that door has led her to producing. After 16 years as the host of Access Hollywood, the talent is now taking on a behind-the-scenes role with a book option from best-selling author, Victoria Christopher Murray.
The 55-year-old recently made a deal with Murray that will include the rights to two books that have juicy plotlines.
“As I continue my career in front of the camera, I am beyond excited to be taking on the role of producer and both ‘LUST’ and the ‘Ex-Files’ are such exciting novels,” Robison told ESSENCE.
“Victoria has an incredible fan base so, I know her readers will be thrilled to see them come to life! As women of color, we need to see ourselves in all different types of roles and after working in entertainment at Access Hollywood for so many years, I am really passionate about telling our stories.”
“Lust,” the first novel published from Murray’s upcoming Seven Deadly Sins series, explores a woman caught between an entertainment mogul with a shady past and his childhood friend who is out for revenge. “The Ex-Files” is about how four different Christian women approach breakups.
In addition to making magic on-camera, Robinson also runs S.H.A.U.N. Foundation for Girls, a nonprofit to help empower young girls and women. Shaun and her foundation were recently featured on the CBS show, “Hidden Heroes.”
