Netflix Drops First Look At Raising Dion
The Michael B. Jordan-produced Netflix series Raising Dion finally has a premiere date. The streaming service will launch the series October 4 and has unveiled a first look at the upcoming series. Raising Dion stars Alisha Wainwright and Ja’Siah Young as a mother and son, Nicole and Dion, coping with the loss of Nicole’s husband Mark, played by Jordan. Things become even harder when Dion starts to exhibit superhero-like powers that Nicole must hide from the world.

Phoebe Robinson Set To Helm Comedy Central’s Queen Of Talk
Comedy Central has ordered a 10-episode interview show from comedian and actress Phoebe Robinson. The half-hour show will feature Robinson having one-on-one interviews with notable guests. In a statement via Variety, Robinson said, “This show will hit that sweet spot between educational and charmingly ignorant. Who doesn’t love that? Well, all older Black people who struggled and marched for my rights. But besides that, everyone else does!”
The Read Has A Premiere Date
Fuse has announced the premiere date for Crissle West and Kid Fury’s The Read with Kid Fury and Crissle West. Based on the duo’s podcast, the talk/variety show will feature many of the things we love about the podcast and more. The series will premiere Friday, October 11.

Pose Star MJ Rodriguez Makes History
MJ Rodriguez made history this week when she won the award for Best Actress – Television at the Imagen Awards, an annual celebration for Latinos in Hollywood. Rodriguez’s win makes her the first transgender woman to win the award for her role as Blanca on FX’s hit series Pose. Thanking her mom, Janet Mock, and Pose co-creators Steven Canals and Ryan Murphy, Rodriguez said, “Obviously, this is not just for me. This is for the little kids like me … and I’m just trying to speak as much as I can for my community as possible and that goes for my Latino community.”
