After putting in major work in the entertainment biz, Insecurestar Amanda Seales will showcase her smart and irreverent brand of comedy in her very first stand up special titled I Be Knowin’.
“Being a stand-up comic is an honor I don’t take lightly, because I consider humor to be a superpower that allows us to bear the weight of issues and concepts that otherwise seem so much bigger than us,” Seales said in a press release announcing the special.
“I Be Knowin’ is 37 years of finding the funny, culminating in an hour, and my HBO family being the place where I get to share it, makes this, my first special, even that much more special,” she explained.
Seales will tape the special on Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City, and I Be Knowin’ will debut on HBO sometime in 2019.
When she’s not appearing on Insecure as Issa Dee’s bougie homegirl, Tiffany, Seales is touring the country withSmart Funny & Black, a live comedic competition about Black history and culture. She also hosts a weekly podcast, Small Doses.
