Congrats are in order following the renewal of Insecure, Issa Rae’s HBO comedy about Black women navigating life’s twist and turns, dating, and insecurity.
Rae tweeted her excitement about the renewal and her readiness to get back to the writer’s room after news broke.
“Excited to work with the #InsecureWriters on Season 2! #InsecureHBO,” she posted.
The show, created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, will return next year for a ten-episode run and is one of the first major renewals for president of Programming Casey Bloys. According to Deadline, there’s no word yet if Wilmore will return for a more hands-on role since leaving to head The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
There’s still two episodes left in the first season of Insecure and there will be plenty of time to catch up before the second season. If you haven’t started watching yet, we recommend a binge…ASAP.
Congrats, Issa Rae!
