Jada Pinkett-Smith returns to the small screen to star in Fox’s Batman prequel drama, Gotham.
Deadline reports that Pinkett-Smith will star alongside Ben McKenzie and Donal Loque in the series based on DC comic characters from the Batman Universe.
The series follows the adventures of Commissioner James Gordon (McKenzie] as a rookie detective, along with Bruce Wayne and the villains that dwell in Gotham City. No stranger to mysterious and action-packed roles, The Matrix star will play Fish Mooney, a notoriously hotheaded gangster who moonlights as a nightclub owner.
The new series will serve as one of Pinkett’s many projects, including her role as executive producer on The Queen Latifah Show.
Her last TV role was on TNT’s Hawthorne, which aired from 2009-2011.
