Jason Derulo has just joined the cast of Cats.
The live-action film is an adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical. Variety reports that Derulo will play rebellious feline Rum Tum Tugger.
Derulo adds his star power to a cast that includes Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and Francesca Hayward.
It was reported in October that Elba was in talks to sign on to the project, adding to an already busy schedule. Elba is currently filming The Fate of the Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw and will return to Luther next year. He’s also been busy with his own Netflix series, Turn Up Charlie.
Production on Cats is set to begin in December.
