From Chi-Raq to Broadway, Jennifer Hudson’s catalog just keeps growing and growing. And it doesn’t look like she has plans of slowing down. The singer has been cast in a new Netflix original film, Sandy Wexler, opposite Adam Sandler.
According to Shadow and Act, J-Hud will play Courtney Clarke, “a tremendously talented singer” who is discovered in an amusement park by a talent agent played by Adam Sandler.
The Netflix romantic comedy follows the life of Sandy Wexler in Los Angeles, CA in the ’90s. He represents “represents a group of eccentric clients on the fringes of show business,” and finds himself falling for his latest client (Jennifer Hudson).
Hudon’s latest projects include an incredible run on Broadway, playing Shug Avery, and a part in Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq.
Sandy Wexler is scheduled to begin filming in L.A. next month.
