BlacKkKlansman star John David Washington may be the son of one of Black Hollywood’s favorite couples, but the 34-year-old actor is still looking for Ms. Right. During a recent appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ popular daytime talk show, the comedian tried to get the tea on Washington’s relationship status by asking who he’ll take to the Oscars next year. Washington, who’s earning award buzz for his BlacKkKlansman performance, quickly said he’ll be taking his mother, Pauletta Washington, to the show. Why? Because he’s currently “single AF.” “It’s hard out here,” Washington explained. While we know Washington loves his momma — and after setting the record straight about her accomplishments, he’s possibly her biggest stan — we have a difficult time believing the Ballers star can’t get a date. Still, Washington said he’s open to dating a writer or director, but we know whoever he ends up with has to be a Beyoncé fan. Apparently, the former NFL player is a dedicated member of the BeyHive, but in spite of his famous family, he’s been unable to snag tickets for the On the Run II tour. “I’ve been trying. My sister got some tickets for the upcoming show…but I’m 0 for three,” Washington admitted. “And I’m, like, I’m totally BeyHive all day.” Thankfully, DeGeneres stepped in to gift Washington two tickets to an upcoming show. But now the question is, who will he take?
