Kandi Burruss’ first love may be music, but the singer turned businesswoman is serious about her money.
Over the years Burruss has built several businesses, including, an intimate toys line called Bedroom Kandi, and the children’s apparel company Raising Ace. Last year, Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, opened a restaurant with her mother and aunts aptly named Old Lady Gang. Now, the eatery is moving into one of Atlanta’s biggest venues.
“I have been keeping this to myself but now I can finally announce that we will have an @oldladygang in the #PhillipsArena!!!! I’m so excited!” Burruss wrote on Instagram.
Old Lady Gang opened its first restaurant in March 2017 and specializes in the same type of Southern cuisine Burruss grew up eating. And moving into Phillips Arena, home to the Atlanta Falcons, is a big deal for Burruss and her family whose roots run deep in the city.
“I’m thankful to be a part of that,” she gushed on IG.
In a twist of fate, Burruss’ eatery will be open when she hits the stage with her fellow Xscape bandmates for the So So Def tour later this year.
“I’m also thankful that the first concert that will be in the new #PhillipsArena will be the #SoSoDef tour! So I get to be on stage & then meet you at my restaurant in the food court,” she told fans.
This isn’t the only big news Burruss announced recently. Earlier this week she launched her new cosmetics brand, Kandi Koated. The new makeup line will debut at the Bedroom Kandi Convention this weekend and will feature several products, including, lipstick, eyeshadow, highlighter, blush, and much more.
With so many projects in the works, Burruss is well on the way to building an empire she can pass down to the next generation.
