Kanye West has dropped the release date for his brand new album…again.
The rapper took to Twitter early Monday morning to announce that the long awaited-album, Jesus Is King, will drop this week—on Friday to be specific.
But because he has missed every single release date he has announced so far, fans are not so sure if they really believe him.
The album was originally supposed to be released on September 27 by his wife, Kim Kardashian West, and was later pushed back to September 29. It never arrived, even though West held multiple listening parties that weekend of the album.
One source who attended a listening party told ESSENCE that the album sounded like “Ultralight Beam,” the Gospel-infused song from his 2016 album, The Life of Pablo. Still, they expect that when the real album drops, songs would’ve changed—because #Kanye.
So it’s no surprise that some fans are taking a wait-and-see approach to the new album date.
The new date does coincide with the drop of his IMAX movie, also titled Jesus Is King, which will showcase one of West’s Sunday Services from earlier this summer, Deadline reports.
Despite the delay, that hasn’t stopped him from taking his Sunday Service events around the country every week since.
