Fans have been counting down to the release of the Black Panther movie for nearly two years and it looks like one of Hip Hop’s biggest artists will be involved with the film’s equally as anticipated soundtrack.
Grammy Award-winning lyricist Kendrick Lamar recently premiered the video for his single “Love” off of his latest album DAMN, which chronicles the ups and downs of a relationship all while posing the question, “Will you still love me?” While the release of the visual itself was more than enough of an early Christmas present for music lovers, fans also picked up on what appears to be a hint that K.Dot is working on new music to be featured on the Black Panther soundtrack.
At about the 1:55 mark in the video, Kendrick is seen on set standing in front of a grey backdrop, just after a faceless director flashes a clapboard across the screen bearing the words, “B. Panther Soundtrack Coming Soon.” Although Kendrick himself has yet confirm or deny the speculation, the cryptic revelation in the video seems to be more than enough to convince the masses.
To date, “Legend Has It” by Run The Jewels and BagBak by Vince Staples are two songs that have been heard in the Black Panther movie trailers, however, the official track list for the soundtrack has not yet been released.
