Kendrick Lamar shared a music video for “ELEMENT.” on Tuesday. The unsettling visual depicts a burning wooden house, inmates at a jail, and police officers, among other scenes. Lamar himself also appears in the video, which was co-directed by Jonas Lindstroem. The Little Homies, Lamar’s collaborative visual duo with Top Dawg Entertainment co-president Dave Free, also receive directing credits.
“ELEMENT.” is the third song from Lamar’s DAMN. — EW’s favorite album of the year so far — to receive the music video treatment. “HUMBLE.” was released in late March, shortly before DAMN.‘s April release, while the Don Cheadle-starring “DNA.” dropped days after the album.
Lamar sets out next month on his DAMN. tour, which will hit arenas across the country through early September. The trek begins July 12 in Glendale, Arizona, and concludes Sept. 2 in Miami.
