The unlikely duo of Kevin Hart and LeBron James will team up for a new comedy called Ballers.
As Deadline.com reports, Hart will co-write the film with his team Joe Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford. The storyline follows competing brothers who find themselves in unusual circumstances. Hart’s character lives much of his life in the shadow of his taller, athletic and more famous NBA brother, played by LeBron James. However, Hart gets a chance to prove himself at a “weekend fantasy basketball camp.”
Once the writing portion is complete, the comedy will receive a director and will begin shooting in the summer of 2014—during James’ off season.
James attached himself to star in this film in 2009, but it was shelved for unknown reasons.
Ballers will be James’ silver-screen debut, while it will be one of a number films Hart will juggle in 2014. The comedian is set to release Ride Along, About Last Night and Think Like a Man Too in the coming months.
