Black-ish showrunner Kenya Barris and rapper Kid Cudi have teamed up for a new adult animated series for Netflix.
The series will feature music from Cudi’s upcoming project Entergalactic. The rapper is tapped to star in, write, and executive produce the animated show.
Kid Cudi’s album is said to tell the story of a young man on a journey to find love.
Barris is also attached to executive produce the series through his company Khalabo Ink Society, which has an overall deal with Netflix.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has dabbled in television.
Kid Cudi previously starred in HBO’s How To Make It In America alongside Bryan Greenberg, Lake Bell, and Victor Rasuk.
He’s recently appeared on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and in films Vincent N Roxxy and James White. Cudi will also appear in Westworld’s upcoming season and Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Barris has also been busy.
Along with working on Black-ish, the showrunner is an executive producer on the show’s upcoming spin-off Mixed-ish and currently executive produces Freeform’s Grown-ish.
