The sequel to Coming to America has added a number of incredible entertainers to their already star-studded cast lineup.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, and KiKi Layne have joined the upcoming sequel.
Snipes will play a new character named General Izzi, the ruler of a neighboring nation, while Layne will play Prince Akeem’s daughter. Jones is in negotiation and her role has not been announced.
But these aren’t the only new additions.
It was also announced in June that comedian and actor, Jermaine Fowler, would be joining the film as Prince Akeem’s long-lost son.
James Earl Jones, Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall and Paul Bates are also set to return for the sequel. Rick Ross, Teyana Taylor, and comedian Michael Blackson have also landed roles in the comedy.
It was announced earlier this year that the film is set to be released next year, likely in August.
Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is penning the script, while Craig Brewer will direct.
