We’re gearing up for the final season of Power and we’re not quite sure we’re ready for it to end.
The last few weeks have seen the cast of the series doing their best not to spoil the sixth season of the show, which premieres Sunday, August 25.
On this week’s episode of ESSENCE’s Yes, Girl!, Larenz Tate, who plays Councilman Rashad Tate, did his best not to give anything away but dished that the first episode will be “jaw-dropping.”
“This is the final betrayal,” Tate told hosts Charli Penn and Cori Murray, “I think this is one of the greatest that you all will see. It’s pretty amazing. The first episode is jaw-dropping for sure.”
“Everything is in the details,” he added. “That’s why [fans] pay close attention to the detail of the story, the nuances. This season, what I can say, there’s going to be a lot of different storylines that come to the forefront but you won’t be thrown off. It’s an interesting tapestry.”
The trailer for the upcoming final season of Power hinted at the betrayal Tate mentions as James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) faces off against family, friends, and the world.
Tate adds that little things from previous seasons may come back in season six, hinting that “what was said back in season three or what was done, will come full circle.”
