Good news for two of Hollywood’s leading stars.
Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Selma star David Oyelowo are in talks with Disney to star in new movie, Queen Of Katwe, reports Deadline.com. The film is based on the true story of the rise of an African chess prodigy.
The film will be based on a 2011 ESPN The Magazine article and book The Queen of Katwe: A Story Of Life, Chess, And One Extraordinary Girl’s Dream Of Becoming A Grandmaster and will tell the story of Phiona Mutesi who rose from poverty in Uganda to become a chess prodigy and made itall the way to the World Chess Olympiad with help from mentor and coach Robert Katende. Nyong’o will play Phiona’s mother Harriet Mutesi, while Oyelowo is in talks to play Katende.
Shooting will begin in the spring. Well, alright now!
