It’s official, the force is with Lupita Nyong’o.
The Oscar winner is joining the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, reports Deadline.
Rumors of Nyong’o meeting with director JJ Abrams have been swirling since earlier this year. And now, it’s confirmed that she’ll join the star-studded cast, which includes British-Nigerian actor John Boyega, Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie and Harrison Ford.
“I can finally say it out loud and proud: I’m going to a galaxy far far away,” she tweeted.
This will be Nyong’o’s first major role since winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave earlier this year. Star Wars will open in theaters worldwide on December 18, 2015.
