We all know Mariah Carey is the Queen of Christmas, but she is ready to solidify it as fact.
Twenty-five years after it was first released, her hit 1994 carol, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has taken the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 according to Billboard‘s recent announcement.
The song was originally on Carey’s Merry Christmas album and continues to come to life everytime the holiday season comes around.
“We did it!” Carey tweeted of the news on her new milestone.
This is also Carey’s 19th Hot 100 No. 1, extending her record for the most among solo artists. She’s now one number one song away from matching The Beatles’ overall-record 20 Hot 100 No. 1s.
According to Billboard, her song is the second holiday No. 1 ever on the Hot 100, joining The Chipmunks’ “The Chipmunk Song.”
Congrats!
