Marvel shared the poster for its highly-anticipated blockbuster Avengers: Endgame Thursday, however fans’ excitement quickly turned sour when many noticed that the name of one of the film’s stars, Danai Gurira, had been left off the poster.
It prompted the studio to correct the poster, writing in a statement on Twitter that she “should have been up there all this time.”
Initially, while Gurira was featured alongside the rest of the cast, her name was not billed at the top of the image.
The actress, who plays Okoye, is set to be a major part of the upcoming film, which picks up where Avengers: Infinity War left off.
On Twitter, fans called out the studio for the faux pas, noting that Gurira is just as big a name as the rest. The actress does have receipts: she also stars in AMC’s The Walking Dead, and was a fan favorite in Marvel’s Black Panther.
BLACK PANTHER star Danai Gurira is the only actor pictured whose name isn’t billed at the top. Her image is larger than some actors who do get that billing. The only one from the franchise’s best and most profitable movie, and yet? @MarvelStudios, this isn’t difficult. Fix this. https://t.co/22miymysgj
