According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, the Grammy award-winning singer’s divorce from her estranged husband, Kendu Isaacs, was finalized on Wednesday by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge, three months after the couple settled the split out of court.
After Blige filed for divorce in July 2016, the couple’s split has been less than amicable. Last June, Isaacs was granted $30,000 a month in temporary spousal support as well as $135,000 in retroactive pay. Blige was also demanded to pay $100,000 in attorney fees and expert costs.
However, since the separation, Blige’s career has soared. She released her 13th studio album, Strength Of A Woman, was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Song at the Oscars for her performance in Mudbound. The two-time Oscar nominee even celebrated her rise in Hollywood with an epic party thrown by Jay-Z and Beyoncé. So it seems MJB is just fine.
Blige and Issac were married for 13 years.
