If there’s one debut album you should keep your eyes peeled for, it’s artist Maségo’s Lady Lady.
Just last month he gave fans a taste of what to expect from his upcoming album, releasing “Old Age,” which featured TDE artist SiR. Now, the singer-songwriter is sharing a new track, “Queen Tings.”
Maségo told ESSENCE that the song “was a combination of my excitement for Black Panther, Black History Month, and my upcoming trip to Cape Town.”“I was in the studio with Kojo and Nicky [Quinn], talking and playing beats and then Nicky put on the beat for ‘Queen Tings’ and the song pretty much wrote itself,” he added. “We dropped a short version of it that same day.”
“Queen Tings” features Tiffany Gouché, whose vocals perfectly compliment the vibe of the song.
“She blessed the song with the perfect verse,” Maségo said. “I knew she was a fit for the song. She knocked it out. I’m funny about collabs but I knew she needed to be on this song and it was exactly what it needed.”
And, fans won’t have to wait long for a video, there’s one on the horizon directed by Brill Garcia. Maségo has already shared a little sneak peek of what’s to come.
Here’s the director of my video for the song “Queen Tings” @Brillgarcia y’all bout to love so many things about that video and it’s all because of her. Styled and designed fits, location scouted, casted, brought on her talented friends to bring my song to life. 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/BVLaIZwzUt
