Would you be down for a Killmonger spin-off? Michael B. Jordan wouldn’t mind.
The Black Panther actor recently stopped by BuzzFeed, where he played with puppies and answered fan questions, including, “Are we going to get the Killmonger spin-off movie we all want and deserve?”
“I don’t know. That’s above my pay grade,” Jordan joked. “I love Marvel. I love that character. So, to be able to team up with Chadwick [Boseman], and Marvel, and Ryan [Coogler] and be able to get back on set and work with them again would be a lot of fun.”
If Marvel does decide to create a spin-off around Killmonger, there will be quite a bit to explore.
Fans who’ve seen Black Panther will remember the opening scene in which T’Challa’s father, T’Chaka, kills his brother N’Jobu, Killmonger’s father, setting off the events of the film.
Director Ryan Coogler also revealed earlier this year that Killmonger’s mother died in prison.

In the extra commentary on the DVD, Coogler explained, “The idea was when you see those guys talking over the paperwork in the beginning of the film, they’re talking about a way to break her out of jail. The idea was they never got her out and she passed away in prison, so Killmonger didn’t come up with a mom either.”
Killmonger also attends Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and, as stated in the film, joins the Navy Seals and later becomes a black ops mercenary before heading to Wakanda.
So, if Killmonger’s spin-off ever comes to fruition, viewers will be in for quite a ride.
