Michelle Obama undoubtedly had the hottest book of 2018, and now she wants to line your bookshelf this fall with yet another gem that’s sure to bless you.
It’s called Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice and it’s meant to be a companion journal to her bestselling memoir, Becoming.
Her publisher Penguin Random House said the journal helps delve even deeper into the “key themes in Mrs. Obama’s memoir and that are designed to help readers reflect on their personal and family history, their goals, challenges, and dreams, what moves them and brings them hope, and what future they imagine for themselves and their community.” It features 150 quotes and inspiring messages to help readers become who they’d like to be.
“I hope you’ll use this journal to write down your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, in all their imperfections, and without judgment,” Obama wrote in the journal’s introduction. “We don’t have to remember everything. But everything we remember has value.”
Becoming follows Obama’s life from her childhood, to meeting her husband, former president Barack Obama, raising their children and their road to the White House.
Earlier this year Bloomberg reported that almost 10 million copies have been sold of Obama’s memoir, bringing its publisher Penguin Random House $20 billion in revenue in 2018—the highest amount since 2007. It also held the top slot in hardcover nonfiction on the New York Times’ list for a full 18 weeks.
Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice will hit shelves Nov. 19.
