While visiting the show, our forever FLOTUS chatted it up with Jimmy Kimmel about everything from texting Oprah and Gayle King, to former president Barack Obama’s forthcoming memoir, to having to pay for their own food while living in the White House. A highlight of the conversation came as Mrs. Obama talked around life after the White House for the family.
“I was just trying to think of what we’ve been doing but, truthfully, we’re boring,” she joked, in response to a question from Kimmel about what they’ve been up to since officially relinquishing the title of First Family. “You know, we have a teenager at home and, she makes us feel inadequate, every day. Our self-esteem….is low…”
Later on during the sit-down, she shared a hilarious tidbit about how her youngest daughter, Sasha, gets her attention when they’re together and she’s distracted in a crowd of people.
“The game that Sasha plays with me is that when we’re with a lot of people, she’ll call me, ‘Mom, mom, mom!’ and I don’t hear her,” she said. “And then she’s like, “Michelle! Michelle Obama” and then I look up.” Check out Michelle Obama’s full interview on Jimmy Kimmel in the video above.
