On Wednesday, Twitter user Melly Mel tweeted this along with a clip of Raven-Symoné’s 1993 bop “That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of.”
She did indeed and anyone who doesn’t recognize the iconic song for the bop it is, should not be trusted.
Missy Elliott retweeted Mel’s tweet, reminding us that she was behind the hit, the first song she’d ever written for an artist.
“That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of” was Raven’s debut hit single, written, produced and featuring Missy Elliott, then credited as Melissa Elliott.
The song peaked at 68 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and 47 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
So, never forget that this song went hard and that we have lil’ Raven-Symoné and Missy Elliott to thank for such an iconic piece of pop culture history.
